There are 2 simple rules that you need to follow to build your team. Within those rules there are countless possibilities for you to demonstrate your superior World Cup knowledge. First, you must select 8 national teams - no more, no less - from the country list on the left of the Entry page. Select a country by clicking the "select" button to the right of their name. Second, you only have $100k to spend on the 8 countries. If you go over $100k, you will not be able to enter your team. If you have carefully crafted a team that meets these two criteria, a green "Enter Contest" button will appear at the bottom of the page. Clicking this button will enter your team into the competition!

1. 1. Start or join a Fantasy World Cup Contest.
2. 2. Each player has $100,000 to spend on 8 World Cup Teams. Teams are priced based on a combination of their FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking and their odds of winning the World Cup. Choose wisely!
3. 3. Teams earn "points" for their performance throughout the tournament:
   - In the Group Stages: 3 points for a win, 1 for a tie, 0 for a loss, with an additional 0.5 points per goal scored.
   - In the Elimination Stages: 5 points for a win before Penalty Kicks, 3 points for a win in PKs, 2 points for a loss in PKs, 0 for a loss, with an additional 0.5 points per goal scored.
4. The team with the most points wins the Contest!

Teams are ranked based on which team has the most points at the end of the tournament.

Teams that finish in the top 3 will also get a "PlayTheCup™ Trophy" in their "Trophy Case." The trophies are digital and meant to display to others your tennis expertise.

Players are priced based on PlayTheCup's determination of the strength of the team. This subjective determination is based on published odds as well as FIFA World Rankings.

Yes, before the first game of the tournament starts, you may edit your team by going to "My Teams," clicking on the contest you have entered into, and then clicking the "Edit Team" button at the bottom of the page.

To swap out a World Cup Team, click the "remove" button to the right of their name. Then select a new World Cup Team from the list on the left. Your revised team must still meet the rules of building a team (i.e. must have 8 World Cup Teams and be under $100k).

Before the first game of the tournament begins, you may withdraw your team from the competition.

To withdraw your team, go to "My Teams," click on the contest you have entered into, and then click the "Withdraw Team" button at the bottom of the page.
